A dollar a day helps build a building so children can play

Dear Need It Now,

We are very excited to announce that, thanks to your support, the Upper Primary Classroom Construction is complete!

After five months, the construction site is now a learning centre. The new classroom block consists of 12 classrooms, 8 offices, 2 staff rooms, 3 meeting rooms, a Science lab, a special project room and a large Library!

It is a busy place to be full of people who, with support from Need It Now, are working together to fight poverty through education.

Thanks Need It Now for being a part of the St Jude’s team.

Founder, Gemma Sisia

It’s not every day that a building is named in your honour, especially one which is located on the other side of the world in Tanzania Africa.

But that is now the case for Australian last-minute accommodation website www.needitnow.com.au , which has recently been bestowed this honour by the School of St Jude in Africa.

The building (pictured) was named in honour of the support and generosity of needitnow.com.au which has donated $1 to the school from every customer booking since April 2010.

Needitnow.com.au CEO Andrew Burnes said that since becoming the first business to establish on-going support for the school he has been overwhelmed by the support from customers many of whom have joined the cause by making an additional $1 donation at the time of making their last-minute accommodation booking.

“All funds raised via needitnow.com.au directly contribute to the daily running costs of the School of St Jude such as salaries, stationary, electricity, water, textbooks and uniforms as well as contributing to larger infrastructure and service projects such as constructing classrooms, buying buses and extending the schools education facilities.

Since it was established in 2002 in Tanzania by Australian Gemma Sisia, The School of St Jude now provides education and opportunity for its students to break the cycle of poverty that has crippled their community for generations.

“Through our on-going commitment we have seen how every single dollar counts and with this consistent support we are able to assist in changing the lives of not only the 1300 students who attend the School of St Jude but also the surrounding community,” said Mr Burnes.

The team at Needitnow.com.au know the value of $1

For as little as one dollar we can make a difference to the lives of over 1300 African students at The School of St Jude in Tanzania, Africa.

Needitnow.com.au is proud to announce that it has become the first corporate sponsor of The School of St Jude by donating one dollar from each accommodation booking directly to the school.

Since it was established in 2002, The School of St Jude has provided opportunity for its students to break the cycle of poverty that has crippled their families and community for generations.

Founder, Australian Gemma Sisia says that "Every day staff and students at the School of St Jude work hard to carry out the school's philosophy of 'Fighting Poverty through Education' which is only possible with the school's generous supporters and their donations."

Needitnow.com.au CEO Andrew Burnes is delighted to be supporting the future of The School of St Jude "All funds raised via Needitnow.com.au will directly contribute to the running costs of the School of St Jude such as salaries, stationary, electricity, water, textbooks and uniforms as well as contributing to larger infrastructure and service projects such as constructing classrooms, buying buses and extending the schools education facilities."
